The Science
The sooner you start learning and using your mental skills the better!
Exercise scientists have been researching the effectiveness of sport psychology and mental skills training for almost 100 years. We have the data, it works!
As recently as 2022, exercise scientists looked at multiple scientific studies over the past 30+ years and found further evidence for the effectiveness of sport psychology techniques.1
There is a reason why so many elite athletes (Serena Williams, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods to name a few) use mental skills and report that it is an essential part of their success.2
The research shows us that professional athletes have higher mental training skills than amateur athletes and the longer you play your sport the more likely you are to use mental skills to elevate your game.3
Just like physical skills, mental skill take practice! The sooner you start using them the better. Athletes practice physical skills hundreds of thousands of times to gain mastery. Mental skills are the same. Mental skills training requires a certain amount of patience and confidence in its practice because the results may not occur as quickly as in physical training.4
